During one week, several months this year,
Hooked On Dogs will contribute 10% of our revenues to a
designated shelter or rescue group in our area. We will feature a local
rescue group or shelter in our store and give
customers the opportunity to familiarize themselves with many dogs
available for adoption in our area. At the conclusion of the week,
Hooked On Dogs will host that group in our store for an Adoption Day (Saturday at end of their week),
where volunteers and representatives will be available to answer
questions and adoptable dogs will be present to steal your heart. We
are very excited about partnering with our local shelters and rescue
groups for this program and
hope to raise the roof each
month on this fundraising drive. Shop
and support rescue! Dates still being added, so check back to see when your favorite organization will be at Hooked On Dogs... April 6-9, 2010 Perfect Pets Rescue (Tails of Two Cities Tour ends at Hooked On Dogs on April 10) July 6-11, 2010 Animal Farm Foundation (adoption day being held Sunday as part of Bikers for Bullies to benefit Perfect Match Program) August 10-14, 2010 New England Border Collie Rescue: helping border collies in need. September 7-11, 2010 Out of the Pits: showcasing the true nature of the pit bull and its ability to perform as a therapy, sport and working dog October 19-23 Paws Unlimited: providing food, shelter, health care and love for any animal in need until they can be placed in a loving new home of their own

Heather O'Leary is returning to Hooked On Dogs September 17, noon.- 4 p.m. and on a continuing basis to help care for dogs' chiropractic concerns.
Heather is a 1999 graduate of Cornell Veterinary College. Because she
was looking for alternatives to the traditional Western approach
to veterinary medicine, Heather pursued training in animal acupuncture
at the Chi Institute, in Ocala, Florida. Inspired by positive
results using acupuncture, she next attended classes at the Healing Oasis Wellness Center, in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, to earn certification
in Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (VSMT), also known as animal
chiropractic. These courses, representing a combined 360 hours of
advanced training, provided the educational and scientific basis for
her holistic, hands-on approach to animal healing. Her free time is
spent mostly with her two Jack Russell Terriers, with whom she loves to
pursue the sport of agility. This accidental introduction to the world
of dog sports has inspired her to expand her practice to the
maintenance of performance dogs, as well as to canine companions in
need of extra care.
Appointments with Heather are 30 minutes long, beginning at noon. Please call Hooked On Dogs at 845-758-BARK to secure your time slot and for any other questions you may have. |
