Pistol was surrendered to Red Hook Rescue Dogs as a 6-week old puppy who weighed 1.5 lbs.. He is now Rhino and is a healthy, happy 6 month-old puppy who weighs 10 lbs! We could not have imagined a better life for him than the one he is living with his wonderful family in Florida. Here are some excerpts from the latest update we received: "He loves everyone and get's
along with all the dogs and some. He
plays constantly with them. He is seldom crated. His drive is
incredible. He is starting to catch some discs. I have seen a major improvement on his catching
within the last few days. He never lost his retrieve drive, though (while teething),
which
is most important." "He worked on a photo shoot a couple of

At Hooked On Dogs, we think we've come up with a pretty cool model. We founded Red Hook Rescue Dogs in 2008,
a non-profit corporation based at the store where we help dogs find
their forever home. We usually have one foster dog in the store,
meeting people, working on socialization skills and training. We love
to teach our foster dogs fun tricks as well as the basic skills that
will make them wonderful pets in their new home with continued

 ADOPTED! Pistol is an energetic 3-month old male believed to be an Affenpinscher/Jack Rusell Terrier Mix in need of an active home. Pistol loves people, other dogs and loves to play with balls.
